Good Name For a Metal Band, Maybe

Caravan of Martyrs.

So again here comes the Date That Is Now As Permanently Ingrained in American History as July 4th.

I hugged two Muslims, three friends, my boyfriend and my daughter today. How about hugs instead of Moments of Silence in memoriam from now on? They're much more comforting.

Just out of curiosity, did you and your international students have a chance to discuss 9/11? What are their takes on it?

Did you see that someone broke the World Record last week for most hugs. Really.

Um, I like hugs, but I don't like to hug just anybody.

Caravan of Hugs?

I have a friend that gives "power hugs". I call them power hugs because she about breaks you in two when she hugs you. I try to avoid them as much as possible. P calls her hugs "boob hugs" because he says she always presses her massive chest against him when she hugs him. He too, tries to avoid her hugs.

There will be no aggressive hugging on That Day (unless the recipient specifically requests them).

And yes, I talked with my students about it yesterday. I spent most of the afternoon talking about the Israel/Palestine conflict, though, with a few Palestinians. They're a little like, "Yeah, yeah...you had one day where you felt scared and haunted by terrorism. That's every day for us."

Of course they didn't SAY that, exactly..but that's the feeling I got from them.

World record for most hugs? That could really back-fire on him. He may never want to hug another motherfucker ever again.
