Color Study

This has been the most glorious fall. The 75° days, the crisp nights, the vibrant leaf colors...it's been magnificent. We won't talk about all the gorgeous days I've spent cooped up working...

Sunday D. and I took Lucy for a walk along the newly finished Scull Creek Trail. If you live in Fayetteville and haven't been on it yet, then you're really missing out.

This is just a sampling of the colors we saw:

the colors this fall have been amazing - maybe it's the great sunny weather, but the trees seem more vivid this fall.

I've heard that the color change starts when the days get shorter...but the deep vibrant colors we've had come from a combination of enough rain, warm days, and cool nights.

I'm just happy that the magical combination was exactly right this fall. Aren't they breathtaking?
