I am proud too, and now it's time for us to make our country proud of us.

Yes, we can!

BTW, that speech by McCain was amazing too. He is also a good guy.

McCain's speech WAS good.

I feel like sending out a viral email telling everyone that we just voted in a secret Muslim who won't wear flag pins and doesn't put his hand over his heart for the national anthem! We did it!

So, yeah, PRESIDENT Barack Obama!

That was McCain's best speech, honestly. It was the McCain from 6-7 months ago that I knew. Aww, Walnuts.

Is that Jonathan Thompson in that photo?!!! I'll see him this weekend. He is making me sweet potato pie for my birthday.

Also, I wish Rachel Maddow had a bigger part in the election coverage.

Alannah said...

yeah, that's JT all right!

Around the table it's Amy Wolfe, Kelly Smith (Afro Moon in some circles), Darren Chandler, Liz (Knight) Slape, my sister Jessy, and Jonathan.

I hurriedly took those pics as evidence of the excellent company I was in last night.

I can always use more Rachel Maddow. Did you read the great write up on her in New York magazine?

Here's the link http://nymag.com/news/media/51822/

AMD said...

I did read it! It solidified my love for her.

Guh -- I've been on the verge of joyful tears all morning. At some point, I may just have to let it all hang out, ya'll.

I am on the verge of tears too.

There's hard work ahead...but I am so motivated and inspired now.

Shhhh, I'm not supposed to be blogging! Congrats to you and your cronies on the win. But where is D in these photos?

I'm waiting to see what O does with the economy right away. I have concerns with some of the change he wants to implement in different areas but I do have an open mind.

I won't tell anyone you're blogging!

D. and Sean (Slape...Liz's husband - you know him, of course), Stella and her friend Caitlin, and our friend Pearl were all in the living room, eyes glued to the tv.

I kept telling Stella to remember everything about that moment because this is history in the making.

She'll be able to look back and think, "I remember the night when Barack Obama was elected. My mom and her friends cheered and toasted and she gave me a tiny sake cup of champagne"
